Cat Fashion, Marathoning Sheep and The Return of Psy, All This & More in the Weekly Spread!

Melissa McCarthy takes over social media this week in preparation for her upcoming SNL episode. McCarthy gears up for her performance by lip-syncing the tune “I Feel Pretty” from West Side Story as she transforms into her oh-so-pretty role of Secretary Spicer. And in other musical treasures, don’t miss Chris Pine’s hunky lip-sync battle on last week’s late night show as well. Even though the star had to remind everyone which of the handsome white actors named Chris he was, he still won the hearts of SNL viewers with a stellar rendition of a song by Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Erika Jayne. And speaking of Chris Pine, er… Evans, er… we mean Pratt, Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is well on its way to a $1 billion milestone after just 17 days of worldwide release.

Something strange in the neighborhood….who you gonna call? Scientists have just discovered the remains of a horned, club-tailed dinosaur that has a striking resemblance to the villain Zuul of the 1984 hit movie Ghostbusters. With a scaly, 20-foot long body, this Zuul crurivastator’s dino fossil was so well preserved that scientists were able to get an idea of what it would have looked like scales and all. Just keep in mind this handy tip. If someone asks if you’re a God, you say yes!

Elon Musk, America’s Tony Stark, is blowing the roof off of, well, roofs! Tesla has announced their latest invention: solar roofs. These amazing new tiles are available now and are both cheaper and stronger than current roofing solutions. They also come with a lifetime warranty. This could be the biggest shakeup to hit roofs since thatching was invented.

Snapchat released their first financial report since going public, and it isn’t looking great. In after-hours trading following the release of the report shares fell 20 percent.Even with a much higher first quarter revenue than they reported last year, Wall Street is fairly unimpressed. But, they can take some minimal comfort in knowing that they’re not alone; companies like Yelp are also in some dire need of help. At least Snapchat has these groovy augmented reality glasses on the horizon.

Are you ever a little suspicious of all those Instagram posts that make it look like your friends are somehow constantly in super cool places doing super cool things? Enter the Bow Wow challenge. Named after rapper Shad Moss (aka Bow Wow) who recently posted a picture of his “private jet” which turned out to be a stock image stored under a broken URL for a transportation company, the challenge pays homage to all of those, including celebrities, who sometimes want to look a little cooler than they are. Social media users are now taking the idea and running with it, posting side by side images of the whole picture, and of a deceiving portion of a picture that may not exactly represent reality.

Do you love your cat enough to design a $545 replica of it, along with cat-themed candles, handbags, and clothing? We assume the answer is, “Of course I do!” Well Karl Lagerfeld, head designer of Chanel and pet parent of a five-year-old Birman cat named Choupette does. In addition to his $315 Choupette candle (which we have yet to confirm smells like dander or cat litter) and his book Choupette guide book “The Private Life of a High-Flying Fashion Cat”, Lagerfeld has recently partnered with German toy company Stieff to provide the adoring public with an opportunity to own a stuffed animal replica of this glamorous kitty. Purrfect! Now we know exactly what to get all the cat lovers in our life.

A group of unsuspecting marathon runners in Munich were suddenly joined by a large herd of sheep this past week. It is unclear where the sheep came from, how they knew about the race, how they got onto the trail, or whether they registered for the marathon through the proper channels. All we know is that these human runners sure got more competition for the gold medal than they were bargaining for. Or theory, a victory lap for all of sheep-kind to celebrate this sheep who got some satisfying revenge after being mercilessly teased by a mean cat.
